In Chassidus/Kabbalah this pattern is also very popular since the AR”I prescribed this ratio but with Chulyos. The AR”I in Shaar HaKavanos apparently allows for Chulyos to be broken up so that double knots can be placed in between, making for 7-8-11-13.
