You won’t find Rabbi Daniel Coren making headlines. But in Monsey, and in growing pockets online, he’s doing something that matters: bringing Jews back to Torah, one thoughtful conversation at a time.

At Bais Medrosh Ohr Chaim (Scheiners), where he teaches and guides, Rabbi Coren’s style is straight-up and approachable. He speaks with heart, never over people’s heads, and somehow manages to balance depth with a friendly tone that sticks. Whether you’re frum-from-birth or totally new to mitzvos, he’s the kind of teacher who makes Torah feel like it was written for you.

And if you look closely at his tzitzis, you’ll spot something quietly bold—Techeiles. Rabbi Coren wears the blue thread, following the view that the Murex trunculus dye marks the return of the long-lost biblical Techeiles. For him, it’s not just an academic opinion—it’s a lived mitzvah, rooted in careful learning and a deep respect for the resurgence of what was once lost.

Originally from Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Coren grew up in a home full of Torah and love for the land, thanks to his parents, R’ Mayer and Cina Coren. His learning journey took him through a wide range of yeshivos—from Frisch and MTA in the U.S., to Kerem B’Yavneh and eventually Yeshivas Ohr Reuvain under Rav Betzalel Rudinsky, where he received semicha. He continued growing in places like Yeshivas Chaim Berlin and Mikdash Melech, before finally planting roots back in Monsey.

But what really drives him? Outreach. Influenced by Rav Noach Weinberg z”l, Rabbi Coren focuses on pairing secular Jews with frum mentors—not in a top-down way, but in a way that builds friendship, connection, and shared growth. It’s quiet work. Steady work. The kind that builds worlds.

He teaches with humility, a good dose of Israeli warmth, and just the right spark of humor. And thanks to TorahAnytime, his shiurim now reach way beyond Monsey—bringing his insights to listeners around the globe.

Want to explore more about his thoughts on Techeiles? You’ll find his Torah on Ohr Chaim Learning Center, Sefaria, and of course, TorahAnytime, where his source sheets peel back the layers of this powerful mitzvah—one that’s being rediscovered in our time.
