Rav Moshe Taragin isn’t just another name in the world of Torah education—he’s been quietly shaping minds and molding thinkers at Yeshivat Har Etzion (YHE) in Gush Etzion since the early ’90s. An alum from YHE’s class of ’83, he returned a decade later as a Ram, already carrying serious academic weight: Semicha from RIETS, a Computer Science degree from Yeshiva College, and a Master’s in English Literature from City University.

This isn’t your typical rebbi setup. Rav Taragin’s unique blend of Gemara and Shakespeare gives him a way of talking that hits home with both the beis midrash chevra and the Modern Orthodox crowd wrestling with Torah in a thinking world.

Before settling into his long-running post at YHE, Rav Taragin tested his teaching chops on some big stages. He taught Talmud at Columbia, lectured at both IBC and JSS at Yeshiva University, and even served as Assistant Rabbi at the Fifth Avenue Synagogue in Manhattan. These gigs didn’t just beef up his resume—they sharpened his voice and helped him develop the clarity and nuance that now define his shiurim.

Back at the Gush, his reach goes way beyond the walls of the yeshiva. Thousands follow his “Talmudic Methodology” series, and his KMTT podcast, especially the “Redemptive Sketches”, pulls in listeners looking for something deeper—ideas about geulah, the neshama, and life through a Torah lens. It’s thoughtful Torah for people who think… and feel.

But what really sets Rav Taragin apart? It’s not just the teaching—it’s the living. Years before it became more mainstream, Rav Taragin was already wearing Techeiles on his tzitzis. Quietly.
