Rabbi Brendan Stern serves as Assistant Rabbi of Hendon United Synagogue in London. A native of Sydney, Australia, he learned at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel, where he was part of the class of 2006, and later received Yoreh Yoreh semichah from Rav Zalman Nechemya Goldberg zt”l.
Rabbi Stern is known for clear, careful Torah teaching that does not shy away from complexity. His approach is grounded in serious learning, but also in the realities of communal life — the kinds of questions people bring to a rav, and the kinds of details that often make the difference in practical halachah.
He also has a background in finance and business, which adds a practical dimension to his work in contemporary halachah. Rabbi Stern is married and lives with his family in London.
