From Pure Global Light:

Author Rabbi Moshe Schatz is from an orthodox home in Brooklyn. After studying at Yeshivat Ner Yisrael in Baltimore and Yeshivat Kamenetz in New York. He went on to higher rabbinical studies in Jerusalem, first in Brisk with Rabbi Yoseph Ber Soloveitchik, then returning to America he studied for a time with Rabbi Joseph Ber Soloveitchik of New York and Boston. He’s been involved in Kabbalistic learning for over 40 years in Israel at Yeshivat Mir. Rabbi Schatz. He is well known in the Kabbalistic yeshiva in Jerusalem for his intimate familiarity with all the main schools of Kabbalistic thought. For the last 25 years he has been teaching a systematic synthesis of all these approaches. His Sparks of the Hidden Light (1995), showing the special confluence of Kabbalah and Science in our days, is the first work of it’s kind by an “insider” to the Kabbalistic tradition. His book Mayan Moshe and his introduction to Biur Esser Sefirot (1997) by Rabbi Azriel of Gerona, has been lauded by elder Kabbalists as an important contribution to the study of Kabbalah in our days.

“I know Rabbi Moshe Schatz sheltie to be an exceptional scholar and I personally attest to his intimate familiarity with the teachings of the Ari z”l and the Rashash z”l, as well as those of all the other great Mekubalim.”

Rabbi Yechial Fishel Eisenbach
Rosh Yeshivat HaMekubalim Shaar HaShamayim

“Rabbi Moshe Schatz shlita of Jerusalem has written an important Introduction, based on teachings culled from the Zohar, Tikkunim, Etz Haim and other major Kabbalistic works. It is known that the merit of learning Kabbalah hastens the redemption.”

Rabbi Yitzchak Caduri
